San Jose, California is known for its impressive Christmas displays, but none can compare to the Mattos Family’s tradition carried on by J.R. and Cecilia Mattos. J.R. Mattos has taken the tradition started by his great grandfather to new heights with over 100,000 lights and 200 blow molds displayed throughout the orchard. To catch it all, visitors must drive up and down the street several times or walk around. Mattos Orchard Lights is a blend of traditional Christmas elements and a light show, making it unique and increasingly popular.

In only three weeks, the Bay Area apricot orchard turns into a magical winter wonderland with thousands of lights and hundreds of blow molds. The display is divided into various lands, including the North Pole and Santa’s factories. Additionally, the display boasts Johnny’s Tree Farm, which holds a special place in J.R.’s heart as it represents his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather with their elves on display.
