On Friday, December 12th, 2016, Season 4 of The Great Christmas Light Fight continued with it’s third episode. Hosted by none other than Carter Oosterhouse and Taniya Nayak, this episode was the least-viewed of the season with only 4.64 million viewers.

Meanwhile, the Hohensee family from Central, LA wowed viewers with their high-tech homemade lights. The Pampena family from Stamford, CT brought Christmas cheer and honored 9/11 victims with their tribute Christmas tree display. Last but not least, the Messingschlager family from Fort Lauderdale, FL created a tropical Christmas wonderland with their North Pole display.

For decades, the Messingschlager family home in Fort Lauderdale has been transformed into a tropical winter wonderland with animated Santa Claus statues, artificial snow, and over 300,000 lights. The dazzling display includes a North Pole and has been growing for 31 years. Homeowner Mark Messingschlager personally handcrafts many of the displays, making it a cherished family tradition. The light show has brought joy to his children’s friends and neighbors alike. A unique addition to this festive spectacle is a 60-foot Hatteras yacht lit up on the canal behind their home, exclusively for guests on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. The Lewelyn Road home in Stamford, Connecticut recently made an appearance on ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight.” Owner Tony Pampena – a firefighter from Greenwich – spent 900 hours and 60,000 lights to bring the holiday display to life. For 31 years, he has been dazzling passersby with his incredible decorations that span from Thanksgiving until January 7th. Every evening, the lights can be seen twinkling from 5 PM until 1 AM, as noted on the their Facebook page.

Twin brothers Larry and Dennis Field from Western New York won The Great Christmas Light Fight Challenge. They beat out three other light displays to win a trophy and $50,000! This incredible feat was achieved after years of competition as they tried to out-do each other with festive exterior illumination with Christmas lights inspired by Disney’s Magic Kingdom. To make this display even more impressive, the brothers spent two months programming and wiring over 300,000 lights. Taniya Nayak of the Great Christmas Light Fight

Taniya Nayak is a talented interior designer and television personality who has made a name for herself in the home renovation industry. She was born on February 27, 1973, in Nagpur, India, and grew up in Boston, Massachusetts.

Taniya’s interest in design began at a young age when she would help her father with his construction business during summer breaks from school. She later attended Boston Architectural College where she earned a degree in Interior Design.

After college, Taniya started her own interior design firm named Taniya Nayak Design LLC. Her work quickly gained recognition and led to numerous high-profile projects including designing restaurants, boutique hotels and residential spaces. Her clients include notable brands such as Dunkin’ Donuts, MTV and the NFL.

Taniya’s big break came when she was cast as a designer on HGTV’s popular show “Designed to Sell”. This led to numerous other television appearances including hosting roles on HGTV’s “House Hunters on Vacation”, ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight” and Food Network’s “Restaurant Impossible”.
