If you were expecting a heartwarming story about some New Jersey town that kept its Christmas decorations up for a sick child coming home from a hospital or a soldier returning from overseas, you’re in for the wrong surprise. Everyone enjoys a touching human interest piece – but this isn’t one of them. In Flemington, while the neighborhood certainly gets into the Holiday spirit with an annual Christmas parade down Main Street, some individuals take it even further. Eight weeks later and with Valentine’s Day already gone by, there is still at least one decorated tree standing tall. Alongside it is a snowman just down the street and around the corner is yet another home fully decked out! All of this leads to the question – why have these decorations been left up so long? It may be their property, but having too much of one season can lessen its speciality. Father’s Day might be when things go back to normal – leaving 189 days until the following Christmas!
