Peter Tomasello and his husband Drew Jordan had created a winter wonderland of over 1,000 figurines at their ‘Gingerbread House’ for all to see, filled with colorful gumdrops and vanilla icing trim. As soon as visitors walked onto the property, they were greeted by toy soldiers lining their magical path. Every section of the property featured a different display – from music to light shows featuring Elsa and Anna’s moving figurines every five minutes. There was also a social-distancing measure in place to ensure safety; masks had to be worn, people were limited in numbers, and hand sanitizing stations with peppermint-scented sanitizer were put up for everyone’s benefit. The free attraction located at 135 North Huron St. in Ronkonkoma was open daily through January 1, with hours of 5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m Sunday through Thursday and 5:30 p.m – 11 p.m on Friday and Saturday. The couple encouraged families who visited to donate to the Nassau/Suffolk Chapter of the Autism Society of America in honor of a close family friend with autism.
