A watt is the SI unit of power, which measures the rate of energy conversion. It’s equal to one joule (1J) per second, or it can be defined as the amount of power used by an electric circuit when one ampere (1A) of current flows through it with a voltage of one volt (1V). In other words, 1 watt = 1A × 1V.
