Resistance (R)

Resistance (R) is a measure of how easily electrons can flow through a material. It is measured in ohms and is represented with the letter “R”. Resistance in electrical circuits works similarly to friction in other forms of motion, such as when we rub our hands together to generate heat. When electricity moves through a material, it will encounter resistance from the atoms within it which increases the amount of energy required for its passage.
