Great Christmas Light Fight Season 1 Episode 3, “Twin Takeover” was a thrilling episode of Christmas lights and competition. It aired on December 16, 2003 on the ABC channel and was seen by 4.04 million viewers. Michael Moloney and Sabrina Soto were the hosts and judges of this captivating show that featured four families with remarkable Christmas light displays all competing for a trophy and $50,000 grand prize.

ABC airs The Great Christmas Light Fight – a 3 week series that lights up your screen! Producers choose in advance families and groups who create spectacular festive displays. Each display is judged on use of lights, design, and most importantly cheer-filled Christmas spirit. At the end of each episode one lucky contestant wins $50K plus bragging rights with an awesome trophy to add some extra sparkle this time of year. The first contestants were the Erskine family from Port St. Lucie, Florida, who created an impressive Christmas Wonderland that included dancing Santas, a Christmas train and thousands of Christmas lights.

The second family was the Padron-Neron family from San Antonio, Texas, whose Christmas light display had a patriotic theme with American flags and red and white Christmas lights.

The third contestant was the Tenca family from Old Bridge, New Jersey who decked out their home in “Seussical” decorations featuring Christmas trees made of cans and Christmas-themed signs.

Last but not least was the Williams family from Tacoma, Washington. Their Christmas light display included a Christmas castle and a Christmas village that had over 50,000 lights.

In the end, the Erskine family took home the $50,000 grand prize for their Christmas Wonderland extravaganza.  They also won a trophy that was inspired by the Tacky Award from TackyLightTour.com seen on the Crazy Christmas Lights television show on The Learning Channel.  It was an incredible episode of Christmas lights and Christmas cheer that is sure to be remembered for years to come. Michael Moloney, born on a sparkling December day in 1964, has been creating bright moments of entertainment since 2003. Michael Moloney is no stranger to amazing television shows, having been a key part of the cast on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition for nine seasons! On this show Michael put his impressive construction skills and keen eye for design work front and center as he took charge to transform homes in need into beautiful new spaces. Through extensive hands-on experience with builders, carpenters and more – Michael’s craftsmanship has continued growing throughout his career; now allowing him an expertly trained judging role on The Great Christmas Light Fight!

Joe Cipriano is the announcer of ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight. He brings great enthusiasm to the show and helps keep viewers updated on what happens each week. His role as host also includes introducing each episode, introducing contestants, introducing judges, and helping announce the winner at the end of each episode. Joe’s great energy and enthusiasm helps make The Great Christmas Light Fight a great success each year.

Joe’s incredible journey in radio started when he was still a student at Watertown High School and showcased his talent on the hometown station, Watherbury – Connecticut. Success seemed inevitable as Joe continued to progress professionally; after meeting his eventual wife while employed by NBC in Washington D.C., they moved off to Los Angeles where Joe became DJ for KHTZ, KKHR then eventually Fox Television Network (1988), before finally settling into CBS’ man behind the mic many years later (1997). These days you can hear him providing promos across FOX’s airwaves plus both CBS & Food Network – evidence of how far this remarkable family-man has come! Best yet? Two beautiful children: Dayna born 1984 followed three year later by Alex 1987 who have certainly made their parents proud over all these years.
