A path light is a type of outdoor lighting typically used to illuminate walkways, pathways and other areas that need to be well-lit for safety reasons. Path lights are generally small, low voltage devices that are placed along the path in order to provide both a practical benefit as well as an aesthetic one. Path lights are available for both low voltage (typically 12V DC) or mains voltage systems (usually 120V AC). The most energy-efficient types of path lights make use of LED bulbs which consume very little power while providing ample illumination in darker environments.
