Lux (lx) is a unit of measurement for illuminance or the amount of light that falls on a surface area. It is the derived SI unit for measuring illuminance and luminous emittance and is equal to one lumen per square meter (lm/m2). Lux can be used to measure both natural and artificial light sources, such as sunlight, electric lights, etc.
