Huge Christmas Display Raised £4,000 for Animal Welfare

David Carter of Nottinghamshire decorated his home with a festive display, raising £4,000 for the RSPCA. He was surprised by the amount considering the times we are living in, and expressed his gratitude to visitors who donated to the Radcliffe Animal Centre. Over the course of six years he has raised more than £12,000 with this display. Though his decorations cost him £300 last year, energy costs of approximately £180 meant that putting up the display added additional financial pressure.

Radcliffe Animal Centre

Radcliffe Animal Centre is a part of the RSPCA network located in Nottinghamshire, UK. They offer care and protection to animals that have been abandoned, neglected, or surrendered. The team at Radcliffe works to give these animals the best start possible by providing veterinary attention, a safe environment, and lots of love. The Centre also offers dog adoption services as well as classes for owners on how to properly care for their pets. In addition to rescuing animals from difficult situations, Radcliffe Animal Centre also educates the public about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership so that fewer animals end up in need of intervention in the first place.

RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals)

The RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is a UK charity dedicated to preventing animal cruelty and suffering. It was founded in 1824, making it one of the oldest animal welfare organizations in the world. The RSPCA works with local authorities and agencies to protect animals from cruelty, abuse, neglect and exploitation. It also provides emergency veterinary care and advice as well as rehoming services for companion animals. Additionally, it campaigns for stricter animal welfare laws and conducts educational activities in schools, businesses and communities across the UK.
