NEMA

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) is a trade association that represents leading electrical equipment manufacturers in the United States. Established in 1926, NEMA’s members include manufacturers of lighting, power transmission and distribution equipment, motors, wiring devices and other electrical products.

NEMA acts as a unified voice to advocate on behalf of its members throughout the world by promoting their interests in industry standards, public policy initiatives, government regulations and market access issues. In addition to providing resources such as technical documents and safety guidelines, NEMA also works with organizations such as the US Department of Energy on energy efficiency programs and initiatives.

NEMA also hosts educational programs and events throughout the year including workshops on safety topics such as arc flash protection, discovering new technologies and networking with key players within the electrical industry. It also publishes several publications that are valuable resources for professionals working in areas related to electrical manufacturing.
