A Kelvin unit is an SI unit of measure used to describe the color temperature of light. It is most often used in the lighting industry and it describes the hue, or color, that a light source produces. A higher Kelvin value indicates a cooler (bluer) color, while a lower Kelvin value represents a warmer (more yellow) color. The Kelvin scale goes from 2,000 to 10,000 with the average household lighting falling between 2500-3000 K.
