Illuminating Engineering Society

The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) is a nonprofit organization that sets standards for lighting and other electrical equipment. Founded in 1906, the IES is an international professional organization dedicated to advancing knowledge of lighting through research, education, and professional development. The IES publishes recommended practice guidelines for many aspects of lighting technology, such as photometry, controls, daylighting systems, and energy conservation. The IES also provides certifications for Lighting Certificates Program (LCP), Qualified Labelling Program (QLP), and Lighting System Designation Program (LSDP).
